Our Chileda Shine behavior professionals will meet with you to discuss your child’s interfering behaviors and conduct an assessment to determine potential functions (causes) of the behaviors. A behavior support plan will then be developed to recommend strategies to replace those behaviors with more appropriate and functional behaviors.

Daily Living Skills
Daily Living Skills services focuses on mentorship and support for children who need assistance increasing their independent living skills. Your child will be paired with a behavior technician who will teach strategies and model ways to improve the skills. Skills could include appropriate socialization, emotional regulation, shopping at the grocery store, cooking a meal, etc.
Parent/Caregiver Education
The most critical step in changing our children’s behavior is to change our own behavior. Through parent education, a behavior consultant/specialist will collaborate with you to identify what goals you have for your child and for yourself, and individualize education sessions around those needs.
ABA Therapy
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) uses evidence-based interventions to improve socially significant behaviors. What this means is that, under the direction of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a Behavior Consultant will conduct an assessment to determine what level a child is currently functioning at and implement interventions that have been researched and shown to improve behaviors important to that child’s life.
Community Integration
It is important that children develop community integration skills in order to promote independence. Depending on your child’s needs, we will implement community integration to the treatment plan to work on community skills. Skills may include socialization, safety, shopping, riding the bus, etc.
Support Groups
Peer Support
Peer Support Groups are offered for children of any age and all abilities. These are all-inclusive groups for children to socialize, meet new people of similar age in the community, and work on social skill development.
School Consultation
Our behavior professionals can collaborate with schools to support individual students, specific classrooms, or the entire school district. School consultation can be completely individualized to meet your school’s current behavioral needs.
Staff Training
Our behavior professionals can meet with staff of any profession to train on various behavioral topics. Topics may include autism awareness, how to conduct functional behavior assessments, basic applied behavior analysis skills, effective training methods, reinforcement, etc.
