2008 La Crosse Chileda Classic

10K Start -- 7:30 a.m.
in front of La Crosse Center

5K Start -- 7:50 a.m.
in entrance to Riverside Park

All packets can be picked up at the Radisson Hotel July 2 - July 4 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., or on July 5th from 6 a.m. - 7 a.m.

The timing chips will be available on race day morning. Please allow time to get your chip. To help us eliminate errors, THERE WILL BE NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION!

Greetings! I hope that this letter finds you happy, healthy and ready for another great La Crosse Chileda Classic on Saturday, July 5th. As my first year as Race Director, I hope to bring a fresh perspective with a few new ideas in order to help promote the race throughout the community. I have received tons of support from past Race Director Mark Thorn and the members of the 2008 LCC steering committee, whom I cannot thank enough!

I came to La Crosse in 1995 and immediately the Classic’s race jingle worked its way into my head. This effective marketing, along with a highly organized race, numerous dedicated volunteers and the help of many supporting business sponsors and pledgers, has branded this race as truly a “Classic”, making it a tradition for local families as well as within the tri-state running communities. Looking back thirteen years ago, I would have never dreamed that I would be in the race role that I am, but I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with so many highly energetic runners, walkers, children and supporters.

We have been working hard since January to make July 5th a very special day. Most importantly, we have never taken our eyes off of our ultimate goal: of raising both money and awareness for a very special organization. Chileda's mission is unlocking potential and they do this for so many children in so many ways. Being a part of that mission has thus far been a truly rewarding experience for me and the contagious energy of the Chileda staff and students, volunteers, parents and the steering committee has certainly made this seem more like play than work!
