Chileda serves children and young adults, ages 6-21, from across the United States
who have struggled to find success within other service and support models. Youth
who come to Chileda typically have identified cognitive challenges and interfering
behaviors. Professionals may struggle with definitive diagnoses for the students
we serve, however autism spectrum disorder, attachment disorder, traumatic brain
injury, intermittent explosive disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder,
and oppositional defiant disorder, along with cognitive delays, are all common diagnoses
for children who attend Chileda.
A spectrum of diagnoses calls for a spectrum of services. Whether through our comprehensive
residential school program, our on-campus day school, our off-campus summer school,
our vocational program, our after school and weekend respite services, our individualized
consultative and training services, or our conferences and professional development
programs, we are committed to addressing underlying issues to unlock the best in
the people w we work with. Chileda’s services and supports are geared not only to
serve the students who live, learn, and play within our programs, but to also serve
the families and communities where our students will one day return.
Chileda is an accredited agency, maintaining the highest standards of accreditation
through the Council on Quality and Leadership. Chileda operates within the guidelines
of the Wisconsin Division of Children and Family Services and Wisconsin Bureau of
Quality Assurance Division of Disability and Elder Service. Our program also meets the educational qualifications outlined by many states. We will work with any state or governing body
to secure approval.
Our staff strives to accommodate the ever-evolving needs of the students, families,
